At First Class Aluminium H&P, we fabricate our aluminium glazing systems at our own factory in Oldham, Manchester. We use high quality Pilkington’s K glass which meets the requirements for building regulations ‘U’ value products and RAL powder coated colours.
RAL is a system of colour matching used widely throughout Europe which in its infancy in 1927, was composed of a limited range of shades and colours. The system was developed in Germany and the colour variety has grown over the years from 40 to around 2,328. The RAL colour system Classic collection is implemented in many areas including government organisations, public services such as the Swiss, Austrian and German postal services and within traffic signage etc. The colours have also been utilised within the military for camouflage coatings using the green bronze, leather and tar tones. RAL is the global language of colour, and its Classic, Effect, Design and Plastics ranges are applied within architecture, trades, industry and design.
RAL Design, emerged in 1993, based on the CIELAB colour space, and was intended specifically for use by architects, designers and advertisers. RAL Effect is the first RAL collection to be based on waterborne paint systems, comprising of 420 solid colours including 70 metallic selections. RAL colours can be used digitally as software for architects, interior decorators and other creative professionals.
These powder coated colours when applied to aluminium doors and windows, are extremely robust and highly appropriate for use in schools, hotels, offices and shops where surfaces are likely to undergo significant wear and tear. They are incredibly attractive and long lasting when used in either a domestic or commercial setting, needing no maintenance except a wipe over with a damp cloth.
